PASTOR DAVE'S THOUGHTS

Greetings in the name of Jesus.

By the Grace of God, we as a church were able to provide Interlachen Elementary School with much needed backpacks, school supplies, clothing items, and many needs in anticipation of a new school year.  Although we are a small church, I see so many hearts full of the spirit of giving.  Thank you so much for all your contributions to help our community.  We also continue to support the Interlachen Soup Kitchen and the United Methodist Childrens' Home on a regular basis.  Again, I thank you so much for your kindness!

We live in very trying times.  We all have been hit with higher prices at the grocery store and at the gas pumps.  This recession can cause worry and anxiety.  Remember what the Apostle Paul said, "Do not worry about anything, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."  Prayer is a very therapeutic answer to worry and concern.  We can always trust God to carry us through.

Remember, "God is a very present help in time of trouble."  Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you.  Please continue to pray about our local churches transition into the Global Methodist Church as we take a stand for Biblical authority.  We continue to look to God to guide and lead us.  You all are in my prayers.

Love in Christ. Pastor Dave

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR WORSHIP SERVICE TAB

If you attend our service in person and wish to continue to wear masks, that is fine.  We encourage everyone to continue to practice handwashing and other actions we have all become accustomed to.  Our church will follow all of the cleaning practices that will keep our family safe.

We will continue to have Pastor Dave's messages on our website on the Worship Services tab.  We hope those who have viewed the messages on the website have been blessed.  Some of you prefer to stay away from crowds, others are homebound.  We want to meet the needs of those, for whatever reason, who prefer to watch the message on-line.  Some attend in person and also want to watch again on-line, which is wonderful.  We are grateful for the technology that provides this opportunity.

We thank those who have sent us your kind words and encouragement.

From Chris Folmsbee's The Wesley Prayer Challenge "The church does not have a mission; the mission has a Church."

We continue to respect and desire to follow John Wesley's three guiding principles ) Do No Harm, 2) Do Good, and 3) Attending upon all the ordinances of God simply put “Stay in Love with God."

Wesley's Covenant Prayer:  I am no longer my own, but thine.  Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.  Put me to doing, put me to suffering.  Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.

Let me be full, let me be empty.  Let me have all things, let me have nothing.  I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.  And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine.  So be it.  And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.  Amen.

WELCOMING YOU HOME

2 Chronicles 20:12 "For we have not power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

This is a difficult time for all of us.  Between COVID-19 and all the things happening in our world, many are very confused, scared, and feeling very lonely.  For our current members and those that attend regularly, getting back together is a comfort and blessing. If at this point you are not comfortable attending, we hope Pastor Dave's message on our website will be an encouragement. For those who are just learning about us, we hope you find helpful information on this website. Take a little time to get to know us. Call us if you have questions or if you need someone to pray with.
