PASTOR DAVE'S MIDWEEK THOUGHTS

Praise God that we live in Florida and have such mild winters!  Our brothers and sisters up north sure have it a whole lot rougher than we do.  We had our Saturday morning breakfast on January 15.  We will have our Saturday breakfast the third Saturday of every month.  We offer eggs cooked to order, sausage, pancakes, French toast, grits, and sausage gravy with biscuits.  The breakfast is held in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Hopefully, some of you will be able to join us.  It is really a good deal for $6.00 and it is a big help to the church.

Just as we need to eat physically every day to sustain our health, we need to eat spiritually each day as we feast on the Word of God.  Job said, "I esteem the Word of God more than my necessary food."  I encourage you to have your daily quiet time with God.  It will set the whole tone of your day if you spend some time with God in the morning.

We also are going to be starting a men's group in the near future.  If you have an interest in attending, please call the church office or Pastor Dave for information.  We are going to try to set a time that is agreeable to all.  The United Methodist Women are doing so well that it has caused men to wonder, "What about us?"  With enough interest we hope to begin something soon.  Please make this a matter of prayer.

Remember to keep your eyes on the prize!  Jesus is the prize and the pearl of great price.

Love in Christ. Pastor Dave

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR WORSHIP SERVICE TAB

Praise God!  The CDC has updated their requirements.  Our church will continue to follow the CDC guidelines.  The CDC has now stated that masks are optional.  Each individual will make their decision.  If you wish to continue to wear masks, that is fine, or if you do not feel it is necessary or you, that is fine also.  We encourage everyone to continue to practice handwashing and other actions we have all become accustomed to.  Our church will follow all of the cleaning practices that will keep our family safe.

We will continue to have Pastor Dave's messages on our website on the Worship Services tab.  We hope those who have viewed the messages on the website have been blessed.  Some of you prefer to stay away from crowds, others are homebound.  We want to meet the needs of those, for whatever reason, who prefer to watch the message on-line.  Some attend in person and also want to watch again on-line, which is wonderful.  We are grateful for the technology that provides this opportunity.

We thank those who have sent us your kind words and encouragement.

From Chris Folmsbee's The Wesley Prayer Challenge "The church does not have a mission; the mission has a Church."

We continue to respect and desire to follow John Wesley's three guiding principles ) Do No Harm, 2) Do Good, and 3) Attending upon all the ordinances of God simply put “Stay in Love with God."

Wesley's Covenant Prayer:  I am no longer my own, but thine.  Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.  Put me to doing, put me to suffering.  Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.

Let me be full, let me be empty.  Let me have all things, let me have nothing.  I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.  And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine.  So be it.  And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.  Amen.

WELCOMING YOU HOME

2 Chronicles 20:12 "For we have not power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

This is a difficult time for all of us.  Between COVID-19 and all the things happening in our world, many are very confused, scared, and feeling very lonely.  For our current members and those that attend regularly, getting back together is a comfort and blessing. If at this point you are not comfortable attending, we hope Pastor Dave's message on our website will be an encouragement. For those who are just learning about us, we hope you find helpful information on this website. Take a little time to get to know us. Call us if you have questions or if you need someone to pray with.  Remember Deuteronomy 31:6 tells us "God will never leave you nor forsake you."  He is here, you are not alone.
