PASTOR DAVE'S THOUGHTS

Greetings in the name of Jesus

The summer is upon us.  We all will be looking forward to cook outs, swimming, and other summer activities.  Be sure and stay safe if you are traveling and participating in warm weather events.

Don't forget to maintain a daily quiet time with the Lord during the summer.  It is easy to drift away from our source of strength.  Psalm 1 says, "...but his delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night."  We always need God's strength each day as we encounter daily life with the trials it brings.  I have found that there is a gnawing in my soul if I don't have my quiet time.  The Apostle Paul said, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves as to think anything is from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God."  We need the Lord's guidance, comfort, encouragement, and strength each and every day.

I would like to say "Happy Father's Day" to all dads.  These days are certainly times when we need to honor and remember the folks who raised us.  July 4 is Independence Day and despite America's problems we are so blessed to live in this nation!  Remember what our founding fathers gave us.  I wish all of you all the best over the summer season.  You all will be in my prayers, both those who attend our services and those on-line.  Take care and God bless!

Love in Christ. Pastor Dave

NEXT REGULAR IN-PERSON CHURCH SERVICE

OUR SERVICE BEGINAT 10:00 A.M.

Our Adult Sunday School begins at
8:30 a.m. in the Education Building

THE SUNDAY MESSAGES ARE ALSO ON THIS WEBSITE UNDER THE SERMONS TAB.

WE WILL BE HAVING A COMMUNION SERVICE ON OUR WEBSITE FOR JUNE 4.  IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE, HAVE YOUR BREAD AND JUICE READY.

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR WORSHIP SERVICE TAB

If you attend our service in person and wish to continue to wear masks, that is fine.  We encourage everyone to continue to practice handwashing and other actions we have all become accustomed to.  Our church will follow all of the cleaning practices that will keep our family safe.

We will continue to have Pastor Dave's messages on our website on the Worship Services tab.  We hope those who have viewed the messages on the website have been blessed.  Some of you prefer to stay away from crowds, others are homebound.  We want to meet the needs of those, for whatever reason, who prefer to watch the message on-line.  Some attend in person and also want to watch again on-line, which is wonderful.  We are grateful for the technology that provides this opportunity.

We thank those who have sent us your kind words and encouragement.

From Chris Folmsbee's The Wesley Prayer Challenge "The church does not have a mission; the mission has a Church."

We continue to respect and desire to follow John Wesley's three guiding principles ) Do No Harm, 2) Do Good, and 3) Attending upon all the ordinances of God simply put “Stay in Love with God."

Wesley's Covenant Prayer:  I am no longer my own, but thine.  Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.  Put me to doing, put me to suffering.  Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.

Let me be full, let me be empty.  Let me have all things, let me have nothing.  I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.  And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine.  So be it.  And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.  Amen.

WELCOMING YOU HOME

2 Chronicles 20:12 "For we have not power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

This is a difficult time for all of us.  Between COVID-19 and all the things happening in our world, many are very confused, scared, and feeling very lonely.  For our current members and those that attend regularly, getting back together is a comfort and blessing. If at this point you are not comfortable attending, we hope Pastor Dave's message on our website will be an encouragement. For those who are just learning about us, we hope you find helpful information on this website. Take a little time to get to know us. Call us if you have questions or if you need someone to pray with.
