PASTOR DAVE'S THOUGHTS
Greetings in the name of Jesus
Happy New Year! A new year has arrived upon us with challenges and expectations. I am so grateful that we do not have to enter a new year by our own strength and power. The Lord promises to provide strength for the weary and power for His people.
I would encourage each of us to follow the Apostle James' counsel, "Draw close to God and He will draw close to you." The psalmist also said, "Draw close to God and He will give you the desires of your heart." As Christians we have a definite choice to make. We can either live by our own strength and power, which often results in frustration and unnecessary worry. In contrast, if we yield our lives to the Lord, He can help us in all our daily struggles. Jesus said, "Come to me all you who labor and are carrying heavy burdens. Come learn of me and take my yoke upon you. For my burden is easy and my yoke is light." Living fully dependent and conscious of God's presence will bring a peace to our souls which the world cannot offer us.
For those of you who are retired, your years really can be golden years as you walk with God each and every day. The psalmist again says, "The path of the just is like a shining light which shines brighter and brighter until the perfect day." The perfect day will be when we arrive in to the very presence of our loving, kind Heavenly Father! Keep running your race of faith and we will all be amazed what God will do in a brand-new year.
Love in Christ. Pastor Dave

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR WORSHIP SERVICE TAB
If you attend our service in person and wish to continue to wear masks, that is fine. We encourage everyone to continue to practice handwashing and other actions we have all become accustomed to. Our church will follow all of the cleaning practices that will keep our family safe.
We will continue to have Pastor Dave's messages on our website on the Worship Services tab. We hope those who have viewed the messages on the website have been blessed. Some of you prefer to stay away from crowds, others are homebound. We want to meet the needs of those, for whatever reason, who prefer to watch the message on-line. Some attend in person and also want to watch again on-line, which is wonderful. We are grateful for the technology that provides this opportunity.
We thank those who have sent us your kind words and encouragement.
From Chris Folmsbee's The Wesley Prayer Challenge "The church does not have a mission; the mission has a Church."
We continue to respect and desire to follow John Wesley's three guiding principles ) Do No Harm, 2) Do Good, and 3) Attending upon all the ordinances of God simply put “Stay in Love with God."
Wesley's Covenant Prayer: I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
WELCOMING YOU HOME
2 Chronicles 20:12 "For we have not power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."
2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
This is a difficult time for all of us. Between COVID-19 and all the things happening in our world, many are very confused, scared, and feeling very lonely. For our current members and those that attend regularly, getting back together is a comfort and blessing. If at this point you are not comfortable attending, we hope Pastor Dave's message on our website will be an encouragement. For those who are just learning about us, we hope you find helpful information on this website. Take a little time to get to know us. Call us if you have questions or if you need someone to pray with.
